Combine the excitement of the Gold Rush of 1898 with the awesome beauty of Alaska's glaciers.

Your modern turbine helicopter will lift off from historic Skagway, which one hosted 20,000 prospectors. You'll then glimpse Dyea, gateway to the tortuous Chilkoot Trail leading to the Klondike gold fields. It's hard to believe man took on the nearly impossible task of hiking this terrain as you soar over the treacherous mountain icescapes with ease.

Then leave these traces of civilization behind as you head toward the Valley of the Glaciers. in the rugged expanse of the Chilkat Glacier system, which is only accessible by helicopter, you'll see glaciers surging between high mountain peaks. Your pilot will then land on one of these glaciers enabling you to step out and explore this Ice Age environment.

A guide will be available to answer your questions and point out the deep crevasses, moulins and other features of the glacier. You'll also learn about the immense forces which are slowly pushing the glaciers down the mountain valleys.

A helicopter flight, sensational scenery and a guided glacier walk combine to make this a truly memorable experience.

Approximately 1-1/2 hours.
