Journey to Richmond, a town virtually unchanged since it was founded 120 years ago.  You'll also meet uniquely Australian wildlife on this excursion of immense appeal.

Proceed 15 miles from our pier aboard an air-conditioned motor coach and cross the Bowen Bridge into Risdon Cove, where Tasmania was first settled.

You'll then continue over Australia's oldest bridge into Richmond, acclaimed as one of this country's most important historic towns.  Early last century, many of its landmark buildings were constructed by convict labor, under appallingly harsh conditions.   See St. John's, a 19th-century Roman Catholic Church, which symbolizes the devout beliefs of the early settlers.  You'll also stroll through the nearby Convict Gaol, a prison complex built in 1825 to house local aborigines and road gangs.

Later you'll visit the Bonorong Wildlife Park to cuddle a baby wombat, see lovable koalas and view the rare Tasmanian Devil.

Before returning to the ship, there will be time for a relaxing stroll through the verdant oasis of the Royal Botanical Gardens, located in Hobart's Queens Domain.

Approximately 3 1/2 hours.
